About the Founder

Joanne Mumbey

Joanne is a Certified Cicerone®, Certified Pommelier™ and Culinary Dietitian selected for Wine Enthusiast's Future Forty Tastemakers for 2025, passionate about curating unique food and drink pairing experiences.

Originally from Uganda, Joanne's global upbringing exposed her to diverse international cuisines through her parents' work, sparking her curiosity and love for food. This passion led her to Johnson & Wales University's Culinary School, where she developed a deep appreciation for craft beer.

Recognizing that most beer pairings focused predominantly on European cuisine, Joanne created BeyLoved Pairings to celebrate the rich, diverse flavors that are often overlooked in traditional pairing experiences.
